Mother of Devidhyaan
The area of Bhaskara called Devidhyaan (God’s Eye), is ruled by an old female water dragon. A benevolent ruler who treats her people as somewhat backward children, she is beloved and known simply as Mother. Among the other dragons she is known as Tarlah, meaning fluid, or flowing.
Being female, Tarlah is larger than any of the other rulers of Bhaskara by about half again as much. Her skin is a softly mottled blue above fading to mottled white below. This makes her virtually invisible in water.
Tarlah has been governing Devidhyaan for a few hundred years. She succeeded her mother after a challenge from Janesh Lalika. Janesh was defeated and chased from Devidhyaan, but he had fatally wounded Tarlah’s mother.
Tarlah is a quiet and gentle ruler who encourages her people to seek and learn. She discourages any priesthood, and actively encourages the practice of magic, making her unique. She is strongly allied with Bhanu, Lord of Jarayu. She and Bhanu have one living child, a juvenile male.
The lords of Akshay and Mahday are also considered allies, while the lords of Lalika, Mohanshu, and Mhadhavi are enemies.
